Adeleke congratulates Brigadier-General Olakunle on NYSC appointment

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle on his appointment as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described the new NYSC DG as a fine and disciplined professional, noting that his appointment to lead one of the nation’s strategic organizations is a recognition of his distinguished military career.

The governor emphasized Olakunle’s capacity to fulfill the NYSC mandate by deepening national values in young people and preparing them for future endeavors. He highlighted the achievements of the Ile-Ogbo-born officer in the military, expressing confidence that he will excel in his new role.

According to the statement, “I’m extremely delighted to learn of the appointment of Brigadier-General Nafiu Olakunle as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This appointment affirms the confidence in Brigadier-General Olakunle’s capacity, and I appreciate Mr. President for granting this opportunity to one of Osun’s finest citizens.”

Adeleke, while appreciating the President for entrusting another Osun indigene with a national role, urged Olakunle to use the position to positively showcase the state by ensuring the successful implementation of the NYSC mandate.

He wished the NYSC DG a successful tenure, expressing hope that his leadership would further advance the organization and bring pride to the state.
