Adeleke, ODA agree on partnership to drive industrial growth in Osun

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and the Osun Development Association (ODA) have agreed to establish a partnership framework aimed at accelerating industrial and socio-economic development across the state.
Speaking at the meeting, ODA Chairman, Dr Segun Aina, who announced Adeleke as the first patron of the association, commended the governor for what he described as transformative leadership and said the ODA was prepared to complement the government’s development efforts.
He said the association, comprising professionals and business leaders of Osun origin, was seeking to support efforts to move the state from a civil service-based economy to an industrialised one.
Aina said, “We have seen your good work, which was validated by your re-election for a second term. Beyond congratulating you on this important achievement, we bring a platform for partnership to expand development in Osun State. We offer to complement the state government to deepen industrial development as well as the growth of the entire socio-economic sectors of Osun State”.
Aina listed the proposed areas of partnership to include the establishment of a social and economic advisory council, an industrial development bank, a platform to attract investment funds into the Osun economy, and expanded interventions in education and health.
Responding, Adeleke appreciated the association for its commitment to the development of Osun and called on successful indigenes of the state to invest in the state, noting that his administration had opened Osun to local and international investors.
On the proposed Social and Economic Advisory Council, Adeleke welcomed the idea and promised to consider how best to activate it. He also said the proposed industrial park aligned with his goal of fast-tracking industrialisation but reminded the ODA that Osun has a Free Trade Zone for industrial setup and operations.
He urged the ODA to formally request land allocation, assuring that his government had removed delays in land processing, with the Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) now having a 45-day processing window.
