Adeleke to lead 335-man council for Olajengbesi’s 2027 Reps bid

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, will lead a 335-member campaign council mobilising support for the Accord Party candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Pelumi Olajengbesi, ahead of the January 2027 House of Representatives election.

Olajengbesi announced the constitution of the council on Wednesday as part of his campaign to unseat the incumbent lawmaker, Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives for 24 unbroken years. Olajengbesi, 40, was the campaign spokesman for Adeleke’s re-election bid in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.

The governor was announced as patron of the campaign council alongside Kazeem Akinleye and Dele Faseru, while the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Mayowa Adejorin, was named chairman and deputised by the Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Bayo Ogungbangbe. Adesoji Baderin was listed as director-general, with Ladesuyi Tope and Sola Adeyekun as deputies.

Omotoso Eniola was named secretary, Ademola Asaju assistant secretary and Komolafe Fopefolu spokesperson. The council also has 20 sub-committees covering areas including elders and stakeholder engagement, strategy and political planning, mobilisation and field operations, ward coordination, youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, media and publicity, and digital and new media.

The Youth Mobilisation Committee is chaired by Osundokun Osundare, with Adebusuyi Adeleye as secretary, while Roseline Adeyemi leads the Women Mobilisation Committee, with Keji Lawal as secretary. Tope Abiola chairs the Media and Publicity Committee, while Niyi Odinna leads the Digital and New Media Committee.

Other committees include Research, Policy and Manifesto, chaired by Jimoh Odunayo; Legal and Compliance, chaired by Ayodele Justice; Election Planning and Monitoring, chaired by Komolafe Fopefolu; and Support Groups, led by Femi Awe. Their respective secretaries include Olatunji Awodiran, Pelumi Olaleye, Isaac Fagbemi and Muniru Adeyemi.

The Finance and Fundraising Committee is chaired by Tola Faseru, while Olorunfemi Olatunji leads Logistics and Operations. Seun Fapounda heads Security and Intelligence, Olumide Agboola chairs Professional and Business Engagement, Gbenga Olaleye leads the Students Committee, and Ayo Omisade heads Religious and Faith-Based Engagement.

The Party Affairs and Political Engagement Committee is chaired by Adeloye Samuel, while Kolawole Adesokun leads the Diaspora and External Engagement Committee. The committees are expected to coordinate the campaign’s mobilisation, outreach, publicity, logistics and other activities ahead of the 2027 election.
