Adeleke visits Aregbesola ally, Adeoti as political realignments continue ahead of 2026

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday evening visited former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, at his residence in Iwo as political alignment intensifies ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Adeoti, a close ally of Rauf Aregbesola and the National Secretary of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), recently resigned from the party.
In a video sighted by our correspondent, the governor, accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, was received by Adeoti.
On arrival, the Adeoti Women Group sang political songs in support of the governor.

After the reception, the governor and Adeoti went into a closed-door meeting, joined by senior government officials including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye; Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kolapo Alimi; Commissioner for Political Affairs, Dr. Biyi Odunlade; and the Governor’s Political Adviser, Hon. Muniru Raji.
Both sides, however, did not address the press after the meeting.
Thursday’s visit by the governor is widely seen as part of ongoing efforts to woo Adeoti into the Accord Party, the new political platform adopted by the governor.
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who reacted on Facebook, said, “No amount of alignment or realignment can save Governor Adeleke from defeat. He is going to lose gallantly by 08-08-2026.”
