Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday visited the warring communities of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun to assess the extent of damage caused by the recent communal clash.
The governor’s visit followed violent clashes that led to the destruction of several houses, vehicles, and shops.
In response to the crisis, a 24-hour curfew was imposed to prevent further escalation, leaving the affected communities deserted.

Adeleke emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence, noting that persistent land disputes have hindered development in the region.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to finding a lasting solution and ensuring that those responsible for the violence are held accountable.

He also commended security agencies for their swift response in restoring calm to the communities.
Meanwhile, the state police command confirmed the arrest of three suspects for violating the curfew.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Akeem Adeoye, stated that a Dane gun was recovered from the suspects. He added that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and the suspects would be prosecuted accordingly.
