Lookman among final five nominees for African Player of the Year award

Ademola Lookman is on track to be crowned the African Footballer of the Year at the upcoming CAF Awards, with the ceremony scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially revealed the Top Five nominees in each of the Men’s Categories for the 2024 edition of the awards.

Lookman makes the prestigious shortlist alongside Simon Adingra (Côte d’Ivoire / Brighton & Hove Albion), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea / Borussia Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / Paris Saint-Germain), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns).

Other categories announced on Monday include Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year.

The CAF Awards, designed to celebrate African football excellence, will honor outstanding performances in both club and national competitions.

The ceremony will culminate in the prestigious title of CAF African Player of the Year, awarded in both the men’s and women’s categories.

In total, seven categories have been confirmed for the men’s side, with the top five players, coaches, and teams shortlisted in each.
