Super Eagles winger and 2024 Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman is expected to leave Serie A this winter, as interest from top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, intensifies.
The AFCON 2024 silver medalist has been on the radar of Premier League clubs, including West Ham United, alongside three other English teams. However, Football Insider suggests that the London club may struggle to compete for the Atalanta star’s signature.
While reports indicate that West Ham is prepared to pursue the Nigerian international in the January transfer window, sources say the 27-year-old former Everton player is attracting “huge interest” across Europe, with PSG emerging as the leading contender.
Lookman’s position on the field overlaps with West Ham’s recent signings, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme, which could complicate their bid. Since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, Lookman has significantly boosted his profile, finishing 14th in this year’s Ballon d’Or rankings after helping Atalanta clinch the Europa League title last season.
This season, Lookman has already recorded five goals and five assists in 10 appearances across all competitions. The forward, under contract until June 2026, delivered an impressive 17 goals and 10 assists in 45 games last season.
