The non-teaching staff of Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, Ondo State on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest, demanding the appointment of a substantive vice chancellor for the institution.
The protesting workers blocked the Ore-Ondo road, restricting vehicular movement, thereby causing traffic on the busy road.
The institution was upgraded to a university status in January this year. The staff were apprehensive that six months after the upgrading, the Federal Government has not appointed a vice chancellor to oversee the new status.
The protesters called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a vice-chancellor for the College turned university.
They noted that the institution should be treated and accorded the status it deserves.
