Adultery is a crime punishable with two years imprisonment-Former Lagos Police Command PRO
A former spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Aliyu Giwa has warned that adultery is a criminal offense and attracts a punishment of 2 years in prison.
The former police PRO tweeted this on Saturday, saying he was quoting penal code law section 387 and 388.
He tweeted: “Do you know? Adultery is a crime liable to 2 years imprisonment!
The “PANEL CODE LAW” section 387 and 388 state:
387. Adultery by a man
388. Adultery by a Woman
Whoever, being a man/woman subject to any customary law in which extra-marital sexual inter-course is recognised… for a term which may extend to two years or with a fine or with both.
It is “PENAL* CODE LAW”. “PANEL” was a mistake.” he said
