After Presidential declaration, Amaechi inspects Port-Harcourt-Maiduguri rail reconstruction project

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Sunday inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Port-Harcourt-Maiduguri narrow gauge rail project, a day after he announced his bid contest for next year’s Presidential election.
During the inspection, the minister said the contractors have been mobilised with enough money to allow them carry on the work to Enugu from Port-Harcourt, which is the first phase of the project adding that the contractors and Federal Government are working to source for the fund to complete the entire project.
The All Progressives Congress Presidential aspirant promised that the reconstruction work will reach Enugu by September.
Amaechi on his official twitter account tweeted: “I just inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail line. The contractors are working in different gangs across the line simultaneously. Our first target is to get track-laying from Port Harcourt to Enugu completed, then proceed with the next phase.”
