Afuye pledges loyalty to Oyebanji as she takes oath for second term

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, has taken the oath of office for a second term, pledging unwavering loyalty to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and reaffirming her commitment to the state’s development.

According to the Director of the Deputy Governor’s Press Office, Tope Ariyo, Afuye gave the assurance in Ado-Ekiti shortly after taking the oaths of office and allegiance, saying peace and collaboration were essential to accelerating development in the state.

“I am working with a governor who is passionate and sincere about Ekiti’s development. The last four years were nothing but the laying of concrete pillars for greater things ahead,” she said, describing the administration’s re-election as a product of God’s grace and Oyebanji’s leadership.

Afuye said the government would intensify road construction across the state, strengthen Ekiti’s position as a digital technology hub and expand its youth-oriented agricultural programmes to promote industrial growth.

She said more achievements were expected, urging residents and stakeholders to support the government in implementing its development plans.

“Peace has been instrumental to the unprecedented development witnessed since we took over the mantle of leadership of this state. We are currently ranked among the most peaceful states in Nigeria,” she said, calling for dialogue and collective responsibility to sustain the progress.

The deputy governor thanked traditional rulers, politicians and other stakeholders for supporting the Oyebanji-led administration. She also urged residents to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the next presidential election, citing the cordial relationship between the governor and the President.

“Work has started on almost all the federal roads in Ekiti State. The few yet to be attended to are already in the pipeline,” Afuye said, expressing confidence that Ekiti would become one of Nigeria’s leading state economies.
