Aiyedatiwa celebrates Deji of Akure’s 10-year reign of peace, progress
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has commended the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, for his decade of purposeful leadership, describing his reign as one marked by peace, unity, and development in Akure and the state.
Aiyedatiwa gave the commendation on Saturday, July 19, during a homage parade and award ceremony held at Democracy Park, Akure, in celebration of the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary. He congratulated the Deji and the people of Akure Kingdom, praising the monarch’s commitment to public peace and cultural preservation.
The governor highlighted Oba Aladelusi’s consistent support for successive governments and his impactful role as former Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas. He noted that Akure, as the state capital, has benefited greatly from the monarch’s collaboration with the government.
“Your reign has been marked by significant achievements, especially in maintaining peace and promoting unity. Your support to government has ensured stability and calm in Akure Kingdom,” Aiyedatiwa said.
He further reiterated his administration’s dedication to the infrastructural and economic development of Akure, calling on all indigenes to support the government’s ongoing transformation efforts.
Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Olufemi Meshe, said the anniversary celebration was aimed at honouring the monarch’s remarkable leadership journey and the cultural richness of the Akure people.
Prominent Akure indigenes were honoured with community development awards, including the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande; SSG Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; CPS Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan; SSA on Community Engagement Mr. Femi Fadairo; and FUTA VC Prof. Adenike Oladiji.
Others recognised included Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Mr. Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), Mrs. Omolola Bayode, Mr. Olumide Origunloye, Prof. Daramola Adamolekun, and Prof. Adenike Osofisan.
