Aiyedatiwa dismisses viral impeachment prophecy against deputy, Adelami

By Boye Oyeyemi –

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Friday dismissed claims of an impeachment plot against his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, describing a viral prophecy circulating online as false and distracting.

The governor was responding to a trending video in which the General Overseer of God Central Ministry in Ekiti State, Prophet Olumuyiwa Akogun, predicted a looming political crisis in the state government.

In the widely shared video, the cleric claimed he received a revelation suggesting that the deputy governor would be impeached, warning of possible tension within the state leadership.

Akogun said he saw what appeared to be a breaking news announcement showing Adelami’s impeachment and described a symbolic vision in which both leaders were separated by a sudden storm.

According to the cleric, the development could trigger serious disagreement between the governor and his deputy, potentially leading to political instability in the state.

However, Aiyedatiwa, speaking during the inauguration of the newly constructed Ayegunle–Iwaro Oka Road, dismissed the claim, insisting there was no crisis in his administration.

The governor stated that Adelami had committed no offence that could warrant impeachment and emphasised that their working relationship remained cordial.

He described the deputy governor as loyal and urged the public to ignore the viral video, stressing that there were no plans to remove him from office.
