Aiyedatiwa reassures border communities on security, vows zero tolerance for banditry

Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, assuring residents of Ose, Owo and Akure North Local Government Areas that banditry and other criminal activities along the state’s boundaries will not be tolerated.
The governor gave the assurance on Wednesday, during the third day of his statewide working visit and “Thank-You” tour of local government areas.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that the establishment of an Amotekun Rangers camp and the deployment of operatives to the affected areas had significantly reduced criminal activities, enabling farmers and traders to go about their businesses without fear. He added that security agencies remained on high alert to protect the communities.
“We will not leave you alone and allow something bad to happen to you,” the governor said, noting that the improved security situation had restored public confidence and strengthened trust between the government and the people.
Beyond security, Aiyedatiwa explained that the seven-day tour of all 18 local government areas was aimed at taking governance to the grassroots, appreciating citizens for their support and highlighting projects already executed or currently in progress.
The governor also assured residents of Ose Local Government Area that the deplorable roads in the area would be fixed.
He further noted that improved electricity supply, the provision of school shuttle buses and other social interventions were outcomes of the reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which, he said, had strengthened the state’s capacity to execute developmental projects.
