Aiyedatiwa’s media aide accuses commissioners of undermining governor’s projects

The Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Taiwo Gbamila, has accused the Commissioners for Infrastructure and Finance of frustrating the efforts of the governor’s media team.
Gbamila alleged that the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Abiola Olawoye, has been largely inaccessible since his appointment, making it difficult for media aides to showcase ongoing government projects.
The remarks came after Olawoye reportedly criticised the media aides during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, claiming they were not effectively promoting projects from his ministry.
In response, Gbamila released a 12-minute, 59-second video, now viral on social media, asserting that both Olawoye and the Commissioner for Finance, Wunmi Isaac, had hindered the media team’s work.
“Even when all of us were working to ensure that Aiyedatiwa emerged as the governor, you (Olawoye) were never in the picture. Olawoye has been the one frustrating us from properly showcasing the ongoing projects of Mr Governor to the people,” he said.
Gbamila also claimed that Isaac had withheld running grants for the media unit for nine months, forcing the Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, to seek alternative funding to keep operations running.
As of press time, neither Olawoye nor Isaac had responded to the allegations, although a top cabinet member suggested Gbamila’s outburst reflected growing tensions within the administration.
