Ajulo commends Aiyedatiwa for visionary leadership at South-West Engagement Summit 2025

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo (SAN), has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for providing the visionary leadership that led to the successful hosting of the South-West Engagement Summit 2025.
The summit, held on October 28 and 29 at The Dome, Akure, brought together leaders and stakeholders from across the region to discuss the future of democracy and development under the theme “Strengthening Democracy Through Dialogue: Assessing Progress, Charting the Future.”
Dr. Ajulo, a member of the Local Organising Committee, described the summit as “a defining moment in the democratic journey of the South-West and Nigeria,” adding that it went beyond a regular civic engagement to become “a solemn call to action” for leaders and citizens to embrace dialogue for good governance and regional progress.

He praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership for reflecting deep commitment to democratic values, inclusivity, and regional integration, noting that “when the history of the South-West is being written, the name of Governor Aiyedatiwa and those who put this summit together will be proudly mentioned.”
Ajulo also lauded the Local Organising Committee, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, for its “outstanding coordination and exemplary execution,” as well as the conveners — Afenifere and the DAWN Commission — for their dedication to the region’s advancement.
He extolled Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, as the “moral compass and ideological anchor of progressive politics” in the South-West, and praised DAWN Commission’s Director-General, Dr. Seye Oyeleye, for promoting good governance and regional integration.
Aligning the summit’s outcomes with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr. Ajulo said the South-West must continue to champion unity and dialogue to strengthen democracy, stressing that “dialogue remains our most potent tool to consolidate democracy and shape a prosperous future for our people.”
He reaffirmed Ondo State’s commitment to national development goals through the OUR EASE Agenda, which prioritises security, infrastructure renewal, education, and job creation, while urging all Yoruba sons and daughters, at home and abroad, to “contribute, question, and collaborate for the greater good of our people.”
