Akeredolu celebrates All Saints’ Church Jericho emeritus choir master

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Sunday joined members of the All Saints’ Church, Jericho, Ibadan at a special Community Hymn Singing Service held in honour of Mr. John Akinwale Morakinyo, the Choirmaster of the church.

The special service was organised to celebrate Mr. Morakinyo for his 34 years service as the Choirmaster.

At the service, Governor Akeredolu described Mr. Morakinyo as a master in his own field.

The governor, who doubles as the Grand Patron of the Church Choir appreciated Mr. Morakinyo for his untiring work for God.

While presenting a special gift to the Emeritus Choirmaster, the governor said Morakinyo is a worthy instrument in God’s vineyard.

He said: ”Engineer Morakinyo, I do not see you as my Choirmaster. I see you beyond that. So, I have to be here to honour you not only because you are my Choirmaster but because you have shown me tremendous love.

“When the Choir named me as their Grand Patron, I thank you for the great honour”.

In his Short Reflection, The Organist of the Church, Prof. Ayodele Falase who worked with the honouree described his style as most distinct and dramatic.

He described the Choirmaster as an expert in the art of conducting and coordinating the combined output of the choir.

Speaking on behalf of the Church, Chairman Church Council, Evangelist Tunji Ajagbe described the celebrant as a straight forward and thorough bread person who has impacted lives positively.

The hymn service featured Choirs from All Saints’ Church, Jericho, All Soul’s Church, Bodija as well as the Chapel of Restoration, U.I, Ibadan.
