Akpoti-Akpabio and the alleged attempt at public relations, by Bamidele Johnson

“You dey enter my eye,” or its equivalent was said to Natasha Peperempe by Akpabio. It would have earned the man a Cantona-style kung-fu kick if I was within earshot. Those who know me well here know that I think she’s a Level 10 babe, one for whom I’d climb a PHCN pole in rollerskates.

What ‘Tasha unveiled today, ladies and gentlemen, is Akpabio’s sophomore allegation of the same strain; his second album, which may be titled “I Wanna Sex You Up”. The debut featured one former NDDC woman, seemingly older than and not as shit-hot as Tasha. She said something like Akpabio expressed explicit interest in finding a space between her legs, an action unrelated to a nutmeg.

That allegation, I believe, is thought to be a confirmation that Akpabio is uninhibited and is believed to have made the second credible in addition to suggesting that the man flits across generations in the sex marketplace. He has been convicted, especially by women. I don’t remember that the first woman supplied any evidence in support of her claim. No steamy WhatsApp messages, SMS, voice call recordings or photos and images of a thirstrapping Akpabio. Any or all of the above would help my belief of her claims. ATM, I don’t believe. It may and may not have happened.

Like Akpabio, this is Tasha baby’s second “dem wan knack me” album featuring a remix of that anthem of defiance “You Can Only See, You Can Never Never De Be O”. Her debut featured Reno Omokri as the accused. It had the making of hit, given the number of women singing along, until Reno came along with proof that he wasn’t in Nigeria around the time Tasha confidently claimed he wanted to have pubic relations with her.

Does this mean her allegation of attempted intra-legislature shagging against Akpabio is false? Of course not. Neither does it make it true. No evidence as in the first case. It’s mystifying that he’s been convicted, especially by women. These days, sexual harassment is a big thing. It could be used by women to singe reputations. Women are more easily believed in sexual harassment cases. The Unizik brat woulda ended the lecturer’s career had there not been video evidence that declined to support her claim that the man sexually harrased her.

I’m a Natasha partisan, but without tight evidence, I won’t believe her claim. I’m no fan of Akpabio, but he won’t be convicted by me without evidence. Kowa de nasa. But Natasha still kandor.
