The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
The installation ceremony took place at the Palace Square and coincided with celebrations marking Oba Ogunwusi’s 10th coronation anniversary.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Media and Publicity Secretary, Bode Durojaiye, on Monday, Oba Owoade described the First Lady as a “woman of substance” whose life is defined by inner strength, integrity, and purpose. He highlighted traits such as resilience, confidence, empathy, intelligence, and discipline, noting her focus on meaningful impact over superficiality.
He praised Mrs Tinubu as an agent of change, a leader, and a reliable guide who adds value through her actions and ideas rather than mere words.
Oba Owoade emphasised her integrity, honour, discipline, and self-belief as foundational qualities, noting that she faces challenges head-on while showing empathy and kindness to others.
“She actively contributes to society, supports causes, and seeks to make a positive difference,” the monarch said, adding that she balances personal growth with service to others, prioritises well-being, and pursues meaningful achievements beyond material gain.
He further described her as a trusted voice of reason who inspires others through her example, gives back to her community, and fosters unity through understanding.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu is defined by her profound inner qualities and positive influence, not external validation,” Oba Owoade concluded, celebrating her role as a dependable and transformative figure.
