All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is scheduled to pay a visit to the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III on Sunday.
Tinubu’s scheduled visit to Oyo town is in continuation of his engagements with traditional rulers across the country’s six geo-political zones in respect of his 2023 presidential ambition.
Unconfirmed reports also have it that the monarch had invited the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, to his palace to broker peace between him and his erstwhile political benefactor.
Aregbesola had last week at Ijebu Ijesha, during campaign in support of Moshood Adeoti for the APC governorship primaries, slammed Tinubu and the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, over the current raging political misunderstanding between him and his successor.
“We exalted him beyond his status and he turned himself to a god over us and we had sworn to ridicule anyone who compares himself to God. God has no competitor,” Aregbesola said of Tinubu in a video now viral.
A source told Western Post that the rift between the duo has created a political tension in the South West, hence the planned intervention of the foremost monarch.
It would be recalled that Aregbesola’s anointed aspirant, Adeoti, lost to the incumbent in the primary election conducted on Saturday with a wide margin.
