All projects in two years funded without borrowing – Gov Eno

…Inducted as Patron of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared that all projects executed within his administration’s first two years were fully funded without borrowing from any financial institution.

Speaking on Thursday, May 22, 2025, during his investiture as Patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Uyo, Governor Eno said his administration has been using funds received to build a reserve that supports development efforts.

He credited the financial capacity to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, which, according to him, have significantly increased national and state revenues.

Governor Eno outlined key infrastructure projects aimed at boosting tourism, including the reconstruction of a 5,000-seater International Conference Centre and a 200-room world-class hotel.

He added that the state is pursuing economic diversification through tourism development, with several tourism assets being developed across the state to attract visitors.

Accepting the role of Patron, the governor pledged to uphold the NIPR’s code of conduct and support its ideals and goals.

NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, said the honour recognized the governor’s role in promoting professionalism, public trust, and societal values.

The investiture was part of the Nigerian Public Relations Week themed “Beyond Headlines: Harnessing Public Relations for Economic Renaissance,” and was attended by members of the State Executive Council, political leaders, and NIPR members.
