This year’s games will take place across two zones: Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife and Federal Polytechnic in Ede, where preliminary events are scheduled.

In the male football category, rivalries are expected to reignite as seasoned teams face off and new contenders aim to make their mark. Group B includes Obafemi Awolowo University, Oduduwa University Ipetumodu, and College of Health Technology Moro. During the well-attended draw event, organizers emphasized the commitment to upholding the highest standards and fair play. Measures will be in place to ensure that only bona fide students represent their institutions. Representatives from each school expressed satisfaction with the transparent draw process and pledged cooperation for a successful tournament.

Professor W.F. Sule, Chairman of the accreditation committee, confirmed that stringent checks will be applied to prevent the use of ineligible players or mercenaries.

The Osun Intercollegiate Games will kick off on November 20, 2024, with students competing in six sports: football, athletics, table tennis, badminton, chess, scrabble, and tug of war.
