The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged victorious in all 33 Local Government Areas, as announced by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) on Sunday.

However, the announcement was shadowed by allegations of irregularities during the voting process.

The results, declared at the Conference Hall of the OYSIEC in Agodi, Ibadan, saw PDP candidates clinching the chairmanship positions across the state.

Despite this sweeping victory, complaints surfaced from various local government areas regarding discrepancies noticed during the electoral process, ranging from delayed materials and personnel to the absence of necessary materials in some instances.

Notably, there were allegations that elections did not take place in certain wards, particularly in Ibadan North, Ibadan South West, and parts of Saki in the Oke Ogun axis.

At a press conference at the party office in Ibadan, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Action Congress (AAC), Fẹmi Adeyeye, alleged that Oyo State government did not conduct a credible election.

He further voiced dissatisfaction with the election’s conduct, urging its cancellation and calling for the release of its detained members.

Addressing these concerns hiw, OYSIEC Chairman, Mr. Isiaka Olagunju, expressed gratitude to all electoral officers, party agents, and security agents involved, while acknowledging the need for improvement in future elections.
