Amosun responds to Dangote’s allegation on factory demolition

Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has dismissed claims by Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, regarding the demolition of a cement factory in Itori, Ogun State.
Amosun described Dangote’s remarks as misleading and insisted that no one is above the law.
Dangote, in a recent visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, accused Amosun of demolishing the factory twice, forcing the project’s abandonment until the current administration revived it. He praised Abiodun’s pro-business policies for restoring investor confidence.
In response, Amosun, through his media office, challenged Dangote to present the land acquisition documents and relevant planning approvals for public scrutiny.
He emphasized that all developments under his administration followed due process and that no business entity, including Dangote Group, was exempt from state regulations.
Amosun also highlighted that his administration attracted over 500 businesses to Ogun State and was recognized by the World Bank as one of Nigeria’s top three states for ease of doing business.
He recalled that Dangote had previously commended his government for facilitating the commencement of the Ibese Cement factory.
The former governor urged Dangote to engage in a fact-based discussion rather than resorting to what he termed “mischief.” He insisted that his administration upheld high standards and could not be swayed by external pressures or influence.
