Angela Nwosu opens up on family struggles, mother’s car gift
By Damilola Akinwale –
Former Nollywood actress-turned-content creator, Angela Nwosu, has opened up about family struggles, despite the perfect family moments portrayed in her content.
The controversial content creator, who is married to film director Nnaemeka Austin, popularly known as Soundmind, shared her story via her Facebook page on Friday. She disclosed that her mother refused to use a car she bought for her because she doubted her intentions.
Angela said her husband had promised her mother-in-law a car in appreciation of her support during Angela’s nursing period after she had her first child in 2021. She added that she suggested buying a new car for her own mother as well, which her husband agreed to.
However, she said her mother sold the car after receiving it in 2025, insisting that the gift was intended for ritual purposes. Angela said she learnt about the development through one of her brothers after other relatives had allegedly tried to conceal it by telling her that her mother had been involved in an accident while driving the car.
According to her, the incident left her emotionally devastated and made her swear never to buy another car for her mother. She added that she had previously bought power bikes for her mother, which she still uses.
‘It’s only me that knows what I went through and still going through. I wish I grew up in a family filled with love, compassion and understanding. A lot of things would be different right now. Anyways, God continues to give me strangers who genuinely love me, and I am grateful. Grateful for my husband and children,’ she said.
Comparing the incident with her mother-in-law’s reaction, Angela said her mother-in-law received the same brand of car as her mother, although in a different colour, and used it without complaint before later receiving a replacement.
Angela gained attention online for openly embracing a lifestyle that defied societal norms. Known by nicknames including Digital Ogbanje, Queen of Positivity and Coven CEO, she uses platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to share her traditional beliefs, lifestyle and motivational content.
