Some aggrieved youths in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Saturday accused the police in the area of being responsible for the death of a village head (Baale) and two other men.

The three men were alleged to have died in a motorcycle accident along the Lagos/Benin Expressway on Saturday evening, apparently after being chased by some policemen at a checkpoint.

The victims, David Olowofeyekun, Gbenga Abayomi and Kola Akinduro (the Baale of Korede village), were heading home from their farms when the accident occurred.

The angry youths stormed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Kajola and dumped the three corpses inside the premises.

While chanting solidary songs, they kicked against the presence of policemen in the community again.

But the spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami, exonerated his men from the accident.

She said the accident was caused by the motorcycle rider, who passed through one way.
