British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua has called on Nigerians in the diaspora to reconnect with their roots and explore opportunities in their homeland, describing Nigeria as a “beautiful place.”

Speaking during a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos, Joshua expressed admiration for Nigeria’s vibrancy and pledged to contribute positively to local communities.

“To all Nigerians in the Diaspora, you have a place called home. I’ve had an amazing time here. It’s a beautiful place,” he said.

“Even though I’m in London doing so many things, I’ll ensure I put my feet on Nigerian soil to bring good energy, opportunities, and positive change to communities here.”

Joshua also reflected on the warmth of the Nigerian people and the festive energy of the season, praising the hospitality extended to him and his family during the visit.

“They did an amazing job hosting me and my family today. I got to see how the country is organized and run, and I have big plans for the future,” he added.

Earlier, Joshua presented President Tinubu with autographed boxing gloves, signifying his commitment to fostering stronger ties with Nigeria.
