Apapa-Iganmu deserves better representation in 2023- Lagos Assembly aspirant

A Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mutiu Alimi, has said that he has the necessary contacts to attract development to Apapa Constituency 2.

Alimi said the constituency deserves better representation in 2023, adding that his understanding of the law would help in the enactment of good laws for the people.

He said this at his official declaration for Lagos State House of Assembly (Apapa Constituency 2 ) on Saturday.

The United Kingdom trained lawyer said that he was ready to postrate to the state government to attract development to the constituency if elected into the House, saying that his contributions to the constituency were unquantifiable.

Addressing his supporters, Alimi explained that he had prepared both academically and politically for the position, adding that having lived in the constituency from childhood, he understands the challenges of the downtrodden.
“I am a party man to the core and equally a professional, so I am bringing to bear both my professional experience, international exposure as a UK trained lawyer and grassroots mobiliser into the legislature in Lagos State.

“For years, I have been rendering legal services to aid the development of our community. I have the interpersonal skills to lobby and facilitate projects to this constituency. I am competent to complement the efforts of Mr Governor and also to support Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa in enacting laws that will enhance development of Lagos,” Alimi said.

Speaking on his contributions to the constituency, the House of Assembly aspirant said he had facilitated employment to some youths in his little capacity and that he had also rendered legal services pro bono to the community when Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) was over-billing the residents.

In his remarks, the Leader of Arewa Community in the constituency, Umar Babangida said: “We have our PVC to usher in Alimi into the House of Assembly. We are for him and we have started to mobilise for him.

“We have known him to be a good man to all residents, including the Arewas, so, we have no fear for throwing our support for him.”

Chairman, APC Elders Forum in Apapa, Pa Adebayo Abifarin, said the aspirant has the necessary skills and knowledge to represent the constituency better, adding that he was born in the area and he understands the people.

Abifarin said the leaders have been monitoring his campaigns for sometime and that they are satisfied with how he had mobilised and still mobilising for the actualisation of his aspiration.
