APC: Bello’s actions in my absence remain valid, says Buni
…Ismaeel insists Akpanudoedehe is sacked as national secretary

National Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, says all actions taken by the party while he was away remain valid.
Buni said this in a statement he personally signed, which was made available to WESTERN POST on Thursday.
Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, was the party’s acting national chairman while Buni was out of the country on medical trip.
The Yobe governor said he duly handed over to Bello as the acting national chairman, stating that all decisions taken during that period had his support.
He asked the public to disregard any report “discarding the activities of the Committee under the leadership of the Acting Chairman”.
“This is to bring to the notice of all stakeholders and members of the party that the purported suspension of some activities initiated and executed by the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee under the acting Chairman and Niger State Governor, H.E. Muhammed Sani Bello, IS NOT TRUE.
“Therefore, all activities that were done in my absence remain valid and binding. All party stakeholders and members are hereby advised to disregard the previous statement discarding the activities of the Committee under the leadership of the Acting Chairman.
“It could be recalled that I had duly transmitted power to His Excellency, the Niger State Governor, H.E. Sani Bello to enable me undergo medical attention. Therefore, all actions and measures taken by the Committee under his leadership as Acting Chairman, remain effective,” Buni said.
Meanwhile the party’s National Youth Leader, Mr Ahmad Ismaeel, has insisted that Senator James Akpanudoedehe remained sacked as the party’s national secretary.
In a statement on Thursday, Ismaeel said 10 members of the CECPC passed a vote of no confidence on Akpanudoedehe, removing him from office.
He also asked the public to disregard the list of convention committee members signed by Akpanudoedehe.
“The APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee has reaffirmed its position regarding the sack of Senator Akpanudoedehe and maintained that the final list of Convention planning sub-committees signed by the Director of Organisation following the directive of the caretaker committee remains the final and authentic list,” Ismaeel.
Akpanudoedehe had on Thursday released a new list of convention committee members he personally signed. Conspicuously missing from the list was the name of Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who had described some of his colleagues supporting Buni as “Yahoo yahoo governors”.
“Seeing the unpopular actions of Senator Akpanudoedehe, it is now obvious that he might be surreptitiously working to derail the party, cause internal friction capable of causing further crisis. But the committee against all his antics is determined to forge ahead and ensure the national convention holds as scheduled and approved devoid of any untoward actions,” the APC national youth leader said.
