The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has unveiled a development blueprint tagged the “Osun Prosperity Agenda,” promising to tackle poverty, boost workers’ welfare, create jobs and strengthen security across the state.
Presenting the seven-point agenda on Friday before a gathering that included representatives of civil society groups, professional bodies, artisans, private sector operators and the media, Oyebamiji said his administration would prioritise the revival of critical economic infrastructure, including the Dagbolu Dry Port and the Ido-Osun Airport, describing them as strategic assets for driving industrialisation and attracting both local and foreign investment.
He assured civil servants of improved welfare, pledging prompt payment of salaries, pensions and other entitlements, while also committing to better working conditions within the public service.
On employment, Oyebamiji identified job creation as a key pillar of his agenda, promising to generate opportunities through public works programmes, enterprise support and strategic investments, as well as stimulate local industries and support entrepreneurship.
Addressing security, the APC candidate pledged to deepen collaboration with security agencies and expand community-based initiatives, adding that the Osun Amotekun Corps would be upgraded and integrated with local intelligence systems to improve response to security threats.
“We will deploy smart surveillance systems and invest in modern security infrastructure to ensure the safety of lives and property,” he said, while also promising to expand social protection programmes to support vulnerable groups.
In a goodwill message, the Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, described the unveiling as “a covenant with the people of Osun,” noting that the manifesto reflects the aspirations of farmers, traders, artisans, youths and workers.
He urged party members and residents to unite behind Oyebamiji, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory and deliver people-oriented governance.
