APC cautions Ekiti NASS aspirants against false claims of endorsement

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has warned aspirants contesting National Assembly seats against falsely claiming endorsement by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

In a statement issued on Friday in Ado-Ekiti, the State Chairman, Sola Elesin, described such acts as unethical and unacceptable.

He clarified that the governor had not endorsed any aspirant ahead of the forthcoming elections, stressing the party’s commitment to fairness.

“The party wishes to inform the general public that some individuals aspiring to represent Ekiti State in the National Assembly have been misrepresenting Governor Biodun Oyebanji as having endorsed them. This claim is entirely false,” the statement read.

Elesin further disclosed that all aspirants were free to canvass for support across the state without interference from party leaders.

He, however, warned that the APC would not tolerate actions capable of undermining its internal democratic process.

“The APC is a democratic party that believes in free and fair competition. We will not tolerate any attempt at name-dropping or misrepresentation of party leaders,” the state chairman added.

The party equally urged the public to verify political claims through official channels and reaffirmed its resolve to conduct transparent primaries.
