APC chieftains rally behind Oyebamiji, seek consensus candidate for Osun 2026

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have urged other governorship hopefuls to support a consensus candidate ahead of the December 13 primary, just as they have thrown their weight behind former NIWA boss, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji.
At a special event marking Oyebamiji’s 60th birthday, the party chieftains, including former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye; Federal Commissioner at the National Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Taiwo Oluga; and ex-lawmaker Hon. Debo Kamorudeen, among others, declared that the seasoned technocrat has shown uncommon capacity and competence across every role he has held.
Kamorudeen, who expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s candidacy, urged other aspirants to recognise Oyebamiji’s potential and consider him as the sole candidate for the party.
His words, “I advise all other aspirants to see the man in Oyebamiji and, if possible, allow him to be the sole candidate of the party. We are fully prepared for the primary, as we believe he will emerge victorious. He is the most vibrant of all the aspirants.
“Everyone who has passed through the state executive, House of Assembly, and National Assembly is solidly behind him. We believe that by this time next year, he will be celebrating as the governor-elect of Osun State.”
Also speaking in the same vein, Oluga, a former House of Representatives member, said Oyebamiji is not only positioned to clinch the APC ticket but is also on course to become the next governor of Osun.
She added that the birthday prayer organised by his team while he is in the Holy Land speaks to his deep belief in spiritual guidance.
Similarly, Convener of Osun Gems and former Senior Special Assistant on Protocols, Hon. Dayo Fasola, described Oyebamiji as a man of integrity, kind-hearted, and a passionate advocate for growth and development, regardless of religious or political differences.
