APC convention will demonstrate shared vision for Nigeria’s progress – Information Minister

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said the forthcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will demonstrate the party’s unity, discipline and collective commitment to Nigeria’s development.

Idris made this known on Monday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the party’s 2026 national convention, where he serves as co-chairman.

He described the convention as an important milestone for the ruling party in its efforts to strengthen internal democracy and reinforce its vision for a prosperous and progressive Nigeria.

“The upcoming national convention provides the party with an opportunity to demonstrate unity, discipline and a shared commitment to national progress,” the minister said.

Speaking virtually from the United Kingdom, Idris noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term development. He added that the APC remains committed to advancing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister emphasised the critical role of effective communication in the success of major political events, noting that the committee’s work would be strategic to shaping public perception of the convention.

“The success of any major political event depends greatly on how effectively its message is communicated to the public,” he said.

Idris explained that the Media and Publicity Subcommittee would go beyond routine publicity functions to ensure accurate information dissemination, promote transparency, coordinate media engagement and project the convention’s activities to both local and international audiences.
