APC dismisses ADC claim of civil servant intimidation in e-registration exercise

By Kunle Sanni –

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being pressured to participate in the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.

In a statement issued on Monday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party described the allegation as false and baseless, insisting that participation in its e-registration process is entirely voluntary.

The ruling party said the claim was part of what it described as a broader disinformation campaign by the ADC, which it alleged also included the circulation of a fake APC membership slip suggesting that a terrorist had registered with the party.

According to the APC, the e-registration exercise has recorded massive participation from Nigerians who, it said, were motivated by the achievements of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party said the high turnout prompted its leadership to extend the registration deadline from January 31 to February 8, 2026.

The APC further accused the ADC of being intimidated by the scale and success of the digital registration exercise, describing it as unprecedented and innovative within Nigeria’s political space.

While reaffirming its commitment to transparency and digital innovation, the party said it would remain focused on strengthening internal democracy and expanding its membership base nationwide.
