The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has elected new party executives across the 18 local government areas following congresses held over the weekend.

The exercise, conducted simultaneously across the state, ended peacefully as party members gathered to select officials who will steer the affairs of the party at the grassroots level. Delegates from the party’s national secretariat were present to supervise the process and ensure adherence to laid-down guidelines.

Speaking with journalists in Oke Oka, Akoko area, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Victor Olabimtan, described the congress as orderly and free of disputes. He said the new officials emerged through an affirmation process, noting that the approach encouraged unity and ensured a seamless transition of leadership within the party.

He expressed optimism that the unity displayed during the congress would strengthen the party ahead of future political contests, particularly the 2027 general elections.
