APC governors meet party’s NWC, pledge to promote good governance

Governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress have promised to rev up good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of their various state.
The Govenors made the promise on Tuesday in Abuja during a meeting with the National Working Committee of the party led by the national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, who is the Chairman of Progressives Govenors’ Forum led the state helmsmen to the Party’s National Secretariat for the meeting.
At the meeting were Govenors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State among others. Senator Iyiola Omisore, National Secretary, and other party officials attended the crucial meeting ahead of the National Executive Committee and National Caucus Meeting scheduled to hold within the month of July.
Uzodinma said the intention of the Governors to serve their people was genuine while praising the party for uniting to produce the leadership of the National Assembly.
The Imo State Governor called on the party leadership and members to continue to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu and NASS leadership so that the promise of Renewed Hope agenda can be fulfilled for Nigerians.
Uzodinma said, “Because our intentions for the development of our various States and the nation remains pure, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) met with the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) today at the Buhari House, Abuja for post-election review.
“Our services to the nation are selfless but not without a pat on the back for the manner in which the party conducted herself before, during and after the 2023 General Elections. The unifying politics we have sustained gained the support of other political parties, which led to our party producing the leadership of the 10th National Assembly in unison.
“The Progressive Governors’ remain supportive of the “Renewed Hope” project of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government and the leadership of the National Assembly as they work together for the benefit of all Nigerians.
“Therefore, we called on all to jettison the alleged rancour in our party over the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, for it is an imagination of the peddlers because, as the largest party in Africa, our party remains fortified with internal mechanisms for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of our nation and we remain united in all.”
