APC National Secretary affirms confidence in Akeredolu’s return, calls for unity, prayers

APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has expressed confidence in the return of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to resume his duties and address the developmental needs of the people.

Omisore reassured the government and citizens of Ondo State that there is no cause for alarm but urges them to pray for the governor’s well-being after he has had sufficient rest.

Omisore said this during his visit which he described as a “solidarity visit” to Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

The APC National Secretary met with Acting Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, members of the State Working Committee, Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff Chief, Gbenga Ale, members of the House of Assembly, commissioners, and other top government officials.

The APC leader expressed regret on behalf of the national secretariat for the misinterpretation of the recent statements made by the National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu regarding the governor.

Omisore clarified that the national chairman never stated that the governor is incapacitated, emphasizing that certain sections of the media deliberately misconstrued the situation for sensationalism.

The purpose of the visit, Omisore explained, was to dispel any misunderstandings arising from the sincere and noble statement made by the national chairman and to set the record straight.

Omisore emphasized that the national secretariat stands in solidarity with the State and will always provide support when necessary.

He also assured that the party remained united under the leadership of Governor Akeredolu, debunking rumors of internal strife.

APC Chairman in the state, Adetimehin echoed Omisore’s sentiments, denying any crisis within the state chapter of the party.

He highlighted the party’s cohesive nature and its significant contributions to the party’s success in the last presidential election.

Acting Governor, Hon. Ayedatiwa expressed gratitude to the visiting team for their show of solidarity during their visit.

Accompanying Omisore are Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Festus Fuanter, National Vice Chairman (North Central) Hon. Bawa Muazu, National Vice Chairman (South West) Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke, and the former Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye.

The team also visited the leader of Afenifere, Pa Rueben Fasoranti in his Akure residence.
