APC panel screens Okorocha after release by EFCC

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, was the last of the aspirants to be screened by the Chief John Odigie Oyegun-led All Progressives Congress Presidential Nomination Screening Panel sitting at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Okorocha appeared before the panel Tuesday evening after he met the conditions of the bail granted him by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, while granting Mr Okorocha bail, imposed a N500 million bail bond “with one surety in likesome who must be within the jurisdiction of this court.”

Okorocha who spoke to journalists after the screening, confirmed that he came to the venue from the EFCC custody.

“It was quite successful and I am the last to be screened at this late hours because I came straight from the EFCC headquarters,” Okorocha said.

He also gave his support for the candidate of the party emerging through consensus arrangement.

“Consensus is needed, but consensus is that some of us must agree that is what is meant by consensus. There must be a platform where all of us can agree and to say listen, let’s look at what other party is doing and who can really match the other party and most importantly who can cut across this nation,” he added.
