APC pegs chairmanship form at N20m

The All Progressives Congress has fixed prices for forms in preparation for its National Convention scheduled for March 26 in Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by Director Operations of the party, Prof. Ussiju Al-Mustapha.

The statement said the prices were arrived at after 25th regular meeting of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the APC.

Candidates interested in becoming national chairman of the party are expected to buy forms for N20 million, while forms for the deputy national chairmanship office goes for N10 million.

Zonal chairmen (national vice chairmen) forms will go for N5 million, same as for other positions in the National Working Committee.

The party however said female and physically challenged aspirants interested in any of the party offices would enjoy a 50 per cent reduction.

Two former governors of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, have indicated interests in becoming the national chairman of the ruling party.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had sold its national chairmanship form for N5 million. The party also sold the deputy national chairmanship and national secretary forms for N3m each.

According to reports, the major opposition party raked in N63 million from sales of forms from its national convention.
