APC postpones Shettima’s unveiling as VP candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the unveiling of Kashim Shettima as its vice-presidential candidate.

WesternPost had reported on Wednesday that Tinubu would present his running mate – Shettima – officially to the National Working Committee of the APC on Thursday.

The APC NWC was expected to officially unveil Shettima as the party’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.

An official of the party, however, told reporters the event had been moved forward.

He said a new date will be announced in due time and that the date would probably be sometime next week.

The directive for the postponement is said to have been given by the party’s Deputy National Secretary.

No reason has been given for the decision. It might not however be unconnected with the controversy that had trailed the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the party.
