The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Monday met with delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State to solicit for their supports towards becoming the presidential flagbearer of the ruling party.
But before his Monday’s visit, Westernpost learnt that his allies held a meeting with some of the delegates at one of the popular hotels at Ijapo Estate, Akure, the state capital, where huge amount of money allegedly changed hands.
Delegates at the meeting, it was learnt were APC local government chairmen and secretaries, former members of the National Assembly and former principal officers of the state House of Assembly.
The delegates were said to have smiled home with dollar equivalent, ranging between N300,000 and N500,000.
A source disclosed to Westernpost that the money was given to them in US dollars.
“Osinbajo means business. He wants to succeed his boss by all means. So, nobody should underrate him. He has the money to spend to get the APC ticket and he has been spending it.
“On Saturday, his team was here to woo delegates for him. Those who came to the meeting at Ijapo know what they took home. Naira for naira or dollars for dollars, Osinbajo is ready,” the source said.
Bunmi Ademosun, Special Adviser on Public and Intergovernmental Relations to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Tunji Light Ariyomo, former Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, were sighted coordinating the meeting.
