APC supporters, Nollywood stars rally for Tinubu, Osun gubernatorial candidate

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nollywood stars on Thursday staged a massive rally in Osogbo, pledging to mobilize one million votes for the party’s 2026 governorship candidate in Osun State and for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The rally, tagged “APC Supporters, Nollywood Stars Rally for Tinubu, Osun Candidate,” was organized by the Ajisope Development Initiatives. It began at the Osogbo City Stadium and moved through major streets including Ayetoro, Igbona, Olohunkoro, Ajegunle, Old Garage, and Oke-Fia before ending at Oroki Extension in a carnival-like atmosphere.
Speaking at the event, the coordinator of the group, Chief Kabir Adeoye, highlighted some of the achievements of the Tinubu-led Federal Government. These, he said, include the removal of the “fraudulent” fuel subsidy, stabilization of the economy, increase in monthly allocations to states, and renewed infrastructural development across the country.
“This solidarity walk is a show of strength, and we are doing it to bring more people into the party ahead of the Osun 2026 governorship election and the 2027 re-election of President Tinubu,” Adeoye said. “Our target is one million votes as we continue mobilizing new members across the state.”
Leading the Nollywood delegation, veteran actor Saheed Balogun (Walata) praised President Tinubu’s reforms, describing them as tough but necessary measures to restore the nation’s economic stability.
“We are here to enlighten people and explain what Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is doing to reform the country,” Balogun said. “We urge people to be patient with him. He is trying to fix what has been spoiled for over 30 years — he cannot fix it in 30 days. So people should understand and support him.”
Also speaking, the representative of the APC National Secretariat, Otunba James Udoma, said the initiative would further galvanize support for the party in Osun and across the South-West.
“This kind of initiative will strengthen our base and ensure victory for the APC in 2026 and 2027,” Udoma stated. “We now have all the South-East states working in support of the APC, and in the South-West, we cannot afford to have any state not working for the party.”
