APC welcomes Gov Eno’s PDP comparison, offers ‘safe landing’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed comments made by Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, who likened the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a faulty airplane, saying the analogy reflects the party’s deteriorating condition.
In a statement signed on Wednesday by APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party said it “couldn’t agree more” with Governor Eno’s assessment, describing the PDP as “demonstrably inoperable and unsafe for travel.”
Morka added that the APC stands ready to receive the governor, assuring him of a smooth and secure political transition should he choose to defect.
“As safety and comfort are prerequisite conditions for flying, our great party assures the governor that Plane APC is fit and ready to fly His Excellency and entourage to their desired destination,” the statement read.
The party highlighted its readiness with “highly competent pilots and crew,” referring to its leadership structure and governance style, which it said would provide a “mighty good ride to remember.”
Governor Eno, a first-term PDP governor, had in a recent public remark likened the PDP to an aircraft with mechanical problems, suggesting the need for a better alternative to continue the political journey.
While the governor has not formally announced a defection, his comments have fueled speculation about a possible move to the APC.
The APC’s statement is the latest in a series of public overtures to prominent figures within the PDP, as the ruling party continues its expansion efforts ahead of future elections.
