APC’s Oyebanji floors SDP, PDP, declared winner of Ekiti governorship election

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Biodun Oyebanji has been declared winner of the Ekiti State governorship election.

Returning officer for the election, Kayode Oyebode declared the Ikogosi-born politician winner after of the election early Sunday morning.

“That Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Oyebode said.

Oyebanji polled 187,057 votes, to defeat his two closest challengers — Social Democratic Party’s Segun Oni and Peoples Democratic Party’s Bisi Kolawole who scored 82,211 votes and 67,457 votes to place second and third respectively.

Oyebanji won15 out of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state.

Oyebanji was Secretary to the State Government in Ekiti State before resigning to vie for the state’s number one position.
