Arab Americans should not be blamed if Trump wins, says advocate
Activist Adam Abusalah has warned against pointing the finger at Arab Americans if Harris loses to Trump.
Partial results from Dearborn show that the Arab community abandoned Democratic candidates over the Biden-Harris administration’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza and Lebanon.
“It’s not our fault. They cannot vilify our community,” Abusalah said.
“We’ve been warning the Democrats for over a year now, and the Democrats continue to downplay what’s going on.”
He added that the Democratic Party made its own decision to side with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the expense of alienating its own base.
Abusalah said the Democrats’ only response to Arab Americans’ demands for a shift in policy on Israel-Palestine was to warn about Trump, a tactic that failed to earn back the community’s support.
