Aregbesola urges credible membership drive as ADC flags off registration

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has called on party leaders to prioritise transparency and credibility in the ongoing membership revalidation and registration exercise.

He made the appeal during the flag-off ceremony held at Barcelona Hotel in Abuja, where senior party officials gathered to commence the nationwide mobilisation process.

Aregbesola emphasised the importance of building an accurate and verifiable membership register, noting that the long-term strength of the party depends on genuine participation rather than inflated figures. According to him, a credible register would provide a solid foundation for internal organisation, accountability and effective grassroots engagement.

He encouraged party officers at all levels to ensure that only properly documented members are included in the register, stressing that integrity in the process would enhance public trust in the party.

Beyond registration, the former governor underscored the need for active and informed membership. He urged members to participate regularly in party activities, understand its manifesto and contribute to strengthening internal democratic processes.

Aregbesola also highlighted the importance of transparency in leadership and financial management, stating that strong internal governance would position the party as a responsible political platform.

He said the ADC’s focus extends beyond electoral contests, adding that the party aims to build a sustainable institution grounded in accountability, discipline and long-term vision.
