APC chieftain rallies support for Abiodun’s second term

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Tope Akintunde, has said the task of re-electing Governor Dapo Abiodun in 2023 remains the responsibility of all residents of the state.

Akintunde, who spoke with journalists immediately after meeting with some leaders of the party in Iperu on Sunday, said the activities of Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA) was to mobilise the masses for the second term of Abiodun.

He said: “It is so glaring that our hardworking governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has left no stone unturned to expand the frontiers of development of the state. The governor’s imprints are so visible in every sector. He is doing so much in agric, housing, education, health, massive road construction.

“I must also not forget the ongoing Agro-Cargo Airport project that will go a long way to enhance the economic prosperity of the state. In a nutshell, Governor Abiodun has within this period surpassed the expectations of the people and the best thing to do is to ensure that this good work continues beyond 2023.

“It is against this backdrop that we have put up this group; DACA to mobilise support for our party, APC as well as the second term bid of Governor Abiodun. Our aim is to mobilise at least 5000 in each of the 20 local governments of the state.

“We are principally out to empower our party members and that is why we have built a shopping complex at Iperu to empower market traders. It is a way to empower the traders in our midst and another massive empowerments is on the way for our party members soon.

“It’s on records that we have earlier distributed various empowerment tools such as motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing machines, hairdressing and barbing kits to over 1000 people and the second batch of the distribution of empowerment tools shall commence by the second half of the year,” he said.

Akintunde said that DACA will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the government of Governor Abiodun continues beyond 2023, urging other residents of the state to keep supporting the governor as he remains committed to leaving the state far better than he met it.

The meeting had in attendance some notable leaders of the party in Ikenne Local Govt led by by the Chairman of the council, Olusegun Ogunleye, Elder Olayiwola Ali-Odunsi, Isiaka Oluwole Ojuroye State APC Legal Adviser II, Tajudeen Salako, former Chairman of the local government, Kehinde Awoyemi former minority leader of the local government, Bisi Adesina, Mr. Kola Odusanya, Kehinde Asanbe among other party stakeholders.
