Artisans, traders’ groups endorse Adeleke for second term, hail performance

The Peoples First Movement (PFM), a coalition of traders’ unions, artisans, the Itesiwaju group, and Osun people, has endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office, declaring that his administration has proven to be a winning team that should not be changed.

Speaking at an endorsement rally held at Freedom Park, Osogbo, on Thursday, Coordinator of the group, Ayoade Luqman, said the decision was based on Adeleke’s performance over the last three years and the need to sustain continuity.

Luqman said, “In the beginning, people thought he could never perform, but he proved them wrong. We score him 100% because he has excelled beyond people’s expectations. In the last three years, he has done well, especially in infrastructural development.

“He has executed projects including flyovers, dualisation of roads, and others. Despite paucity of funds, he has made people believe that he can achieve a lot. He has done well in other sectors too, which is why we came here to endorse him for a second term. It is not good to change a winning team; we want him to continue his job.”

Responding, the Governor appreciated the overwhelming show of support by the movement, promising to redouble his efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance.

Adeleke stated that the aspirations of Osun people would continue to guide him and that the confidence reposed in him would remain his motivation.

He said, “By God and man, I accept this endorsement, and I vow to continue to serve you diligently and honestly. I will not betray your trust. You will always find in me the embodiment of good governance and democratic dividends.”

The Governor also urged all eligible voters to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), noting that the card is the power to sustain good governance in the state.
