As opposition flounder, Tinubu consolidates, by Kola Amzat

To the politically savvy and discerning, it’s not difficult to discern where the pendulum of victory would swing during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

However, to political pretenders, they still prefer to swim in the ocean of deception and deceit even though fact is already steering them in the face.

Except APC, all other political parties are presently in the state of confusion, as they continually stumble from one court order/injunction to the other, as well as overwhelmed by internal wrangling that could significantly affect the propriety of the candidacy of some of their candidates for the forthcoming general elections.

Like any other endeavors, key to profound success in political sphere includes-strategic planning, building and sustaining impregnable political blocs across the country, helicopter overview of the country’s political horizon, appreciating demographic needs and providing response accordingly, wisdom, perseverance, and more importantly, having capacity to be the rallying point for more than Nigerian 240 million population of diverse ethnicity, religious, culturally and language differences.

Without a shadow of doubt, the incumbent president hasn’t disappointed in proving his mettle in the aforementioned.

He has proven for umpteenth time that he stands tall amongst the likely contenders for the Aso Villa job in the forthcoming general elections.

It’s not by accident that virtually all the key and acknowledged political leaders across party divides, all over the country prefer to be in Tinubu political camp.

Virtually all the PDP governors have voluntarily defected to APC on account of the president’s purposeful and resourceful governance, and more are still on the way.

It’s not impossible that PDP rank of governors would have been totally depleted before the general elections.

While opposition are in state of disarray, the president has consolidated firmly in the entire Niger-Delta zone through his foot soldiers-Nyesom Wike, senate president, Godswill Akpabio, Senator Douye Diri, James Ibori, Sheriff Oborevwori, Ifeanyi Okowa, Adams Oshiomole, Gabriel Otu and Monday Okpebholo. Who has the capacity to lock horns with these political titans in the South-south geo-political zone?

In the South east zone, the political pendulum has totally changed in favour of the ex-Lagos state governor. The collaboration of Orji Uzor Kalu, Hope Uzodinma-engine room of APC in the zone, Dave Umayi, Francis Nwifuru, Benjamin Kalu, Peter Mba remain the team to beat. Indeed, Peter Obi would ever regret participating in the presidential poll during the forthcoming elections, as he is likely to be completely routed in his own base.

Of course, South West remains a no go-area for opposition groups as far as the 2027 general election is concerned.

North central zone political chieftains-governors, political leaders, leaders of thoughts, market women, students have all resolved to cast their loins and support for the president during the next polls. Like the South- south and South-east zone, it would be a battle of which zone delivered the highest votes.

The North West geo-political zone is poised to replicate what they did for Basorun MKO Abiola to another presidential candidate of southern descent during the next polls. All indications point to this.

From Kaduna to Kano to Katsina to Zamfara to Kebbi to Jigawa to Sokoto, only one name is on the lips of the citizenry: Asiwaju Bola Tinubu!

For sure, they’ve all resolved to deliver bloc votes for the president.

The situation is not markedly different in the North east zone. Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Gombe, and even, Adamawa states, the political fortress of Waziri Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar, including Bauchi have all resolved to pay the president back in his own coins, particularly with so much developments in all facets he has brought to their zone.

Meanwhile, the key to the president’s political invisibility are his reforms-removal of oil subsidy, unification of exchange rates.

Under the president’s watch, the country’s foreign reserves have crossed $46 billion for the first time in six years.

The price of PMS is significantly coming down hovering around ₦840-₦850/litre.

Non-oil revenue has significantly increased to about ₦20.60 trillion (40.5%) compared to ₦14.60 trillion in the same period in 2024.

The country’s currency is gradually stabilizing, hovering around ₦1450 to US Dollar.

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) has crossed the ₦100 trillion market capitalization mark, a development that heralded the birth of a new economic reality and rejuvenation.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange rose above 135,000 All Share Index points for the first.

Road Infrastructures expansion grew by 24.50%, driven by the mega projects—₦15 trillion Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as well as ₦13 Sokoto-Badagry Expressway.

The country trade surplus improved to 44.3% in quarter two of 2025 to ₦7.5, exceeding 5.17 trillion in quarter one.

The country has exceeded OPEC quota for three consecutive quarters averaging 1.71 million barrels/day.

The above are the administration milestones.

It’s also instructive to mention that never in the political history of the country have governors been so fiscally empowered, as their revenue allocations from FAAC has improved significantly enough to enable them embark on diverse developmental projects-roads construction &  rehabilitation, medical infrastructures, educational architectures, ICT developments, security architecture, as well as other socio-political developments all across the federation.

Aforementioned accomplishments are all what President Bola Tinubu is flaunting and this is why he towers above all other known and unknown aspirants ahead of the forthcoming polls.
