Asa Council Chairman prioritises rural roads with rehabilitated grader

Rural communities in Asa Local Government in Kwara State are set to benefit from improved road networks following the successful repair of the council’s long-dormant grader.
The Executive Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Yahaya, confirmed that the machine has been fully restored and is now ready to commence rehabilitation works across strategic routes within the local government.
For years, residents of several villages had complained about the poor state of access roads, which often hinder movement, especially during the rainy season. The return of the grader is therefore seen as a major relief that could ease transportation and support local trade.

Speaking on the development, Chairman Yahaya described the intervention as part of his administration’s wider plan to promote infrastructure and rural development. He emphasised that road rehabilitation remains key to unlocking agricultural productivity and improving the quality of life for residents.
Community leaders have lauded the initiative, expressing hope that the grader will be deployed promptly to communities most in need. They noted that accessible roads will not only enhance mobility but also attract socio-economic opportunities.
With the grader back in operation, Asa Local Government is poised to tackle its rural road challenges, reflecting the administration’s resolve to deliver tangible projects that directly impact the people.
